Wastington State Voter Alert: County Elections affected by flooding

Washington State has some major flooding going on which has closed some county polling places and ballot drop sites.

"Gov. Chris Gregoire declared a state of emergency for 18 counties, authorizing the National Guard and the state Emergency Management Division to offer assistance. Helicopters and hovercraft were pressed into service for rescues." >>read full article

Governor Gregoire Proclaims Emergency Due to Flooding
OLYMPIA - Governor Chris Gregoire today proclaimed a state of emergency in 18 counties due to widespread flooding. The proclamation covers Chelan, Clallam, Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Okanogan, Pacific, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, Wahkiakum and Whatcom counties. >>continue

County Election Officials Respond to FloodingSome polling places and some mail ballot drop boxes have been adversely impacted by the current flooding. Local election officials have been responding. Washington State Elections is urging voters to contact their county elections offices to see if their county is affected by flooding.
